MORE SNOW THIS MORNING AS WINTER ARRIVES WITH A BANG

written by Stephen Maguire November 3, 2012

There were heavy showers of sleet and snow in many places across Donegal this morning.

Donegal Daily readers contacted the site to say there were falls of snow in Mountain Top, Letterkenny as well as Trentagh and Churchill.

The snow failed to stick on the ground, however.

Both Muckish and Errigal were snow-capped earlier this week as the first signs of winter appeared.

The accompanying picture, which was taken today, was kindly sent in to us by Richard Conneely which captures the stunning contrast of autumn giving way to winter.

There are fears (and some delight!) that a heavy fall of snow is only around the corner.
