COUNTY FINAL HALF-TIME – NAOMH CONAILL AHEAD IN NIP AND TUCK ENCOUNTER

NAOMH CONAILL 0-6  ST EUNANS 0-4 It’s anybody’s county final as St Eunans and Naomh Conaill battle it out for the Dr Maguire Cup in Ballybofey.

The Glenties side have gone in ahead at the break but it’s an extremely close game.

The Letterkenny side have been on top for some spells but have been guilty of wasting a number of kickable scores.

Many thought it was St Eunans who had the better team going into this game and they indeed may have the stronger panel.

But you can never bet against a team who have the likes of Dermot Molloy, Leo McLoone, Darragh Gallagher and Anthony Thompson.

Despite being 0-3 to 0-1 down in the early stages, Glenties managed to chip back at St Eunans lead.

The Eunans defence could be accused of givng away needless free kicks which the likes of Gallagher and Molloy have capitalised on.

Eunans are wearing black armbands in honour of Elaine Winston-Friel, a stalwart and supporter of the club who died yesterday aged just 31.

It’s all to play for in the second half.
