All Ireland Pride of Place Awards: Castlefinn Partnership Initiative are delighted to announce that we won ‘The National Pride of Place Award for Community Gardens’ on Saturday last at the Cooperation Ireland Pride of Place awards ceremony in Limerick.
The Judging day was held in July where we hosted a coffee morning and family fun morning, we also had the chance on this day to showcase the great community work happening in Castlefinn. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the local community groups and individuals who supported us on the day and continue to do so throughout the year. We are indebted to you all and look forward to continuing working for the advancement of the area.
Robert Emmet’s: continue with their Bingo on Fri. night in the Parochial Hall commencing at 9pm. Jackpot is €1040 with two golden ball houses of €500 each. Other houses are €50 with lines €20. There was one match 3 winner in last week’s lotto. This week’s jackpot is €3900.
Castlefinn & Districts History Club: Have a souvenir 2013 calendar on sale in local shops at just €2. This would make a nice wee present to send at Christmas and your support will also assist the local history club as the strive to retain and document the history of the area for future generations. The Club will also launch their new website at a function in the C.P.I. centre at &pm on Tue. 13th. Nov. We will also have our photograph display on show for the weekend of the 24th. & 25th. Nov. in St. Mary’s hall. More details later.
Healthy Walks Group: The Healthy Walks Group is back in action again and leaves the CPI centre every Wednesday at 10:30am. Everyone is welcome to come along to meet, mingle and exercise.
