CELTIC say they will issue a statement later today on the new position offered to Donegal GAA manager Jim McGuinness.
The Glenties man will work three days per week in Glasgow with the club’s Academy.
His No2 Rory Gallagher will manage the Donegal team affairs while Jim is in Glasgow but McGuinness will remain the Donegal manager.
Sports psychologist Jim is believed to have accepted a Stg£120k a year package for his new role and is said to be “absolutely delighted.”
A long-time Celtic fan, the Glenties man will be confirmed in his new Glasgow role later.
He has signed a one-year rolling contract which will be reviewed after 12 months.
A Celtic insider said that both Neil Lennon and majority shareholder Dermot Desmond worked behind the scenes to take McGuinness to Glasgow.
Celtic great Packie Bonner says he can see “no problems at all” with McGuinness continuing his voluntary position at Donegal alongside his paid role at Celtic.
How we broke confirmation of the story last night is here:
