JIMMY’S PLACING POSTERS, JIMMY’S PAYING FINES! POLITICIAN COUGHS UP €150

Senator Jimmy Harte has agreed to pay a litter fine under protest after being charged €150 for displaying a Good Luck Donegal poster.

The Labour party politician placed the banner across a motorway bridge in Dublin on the weekend of the All-Ireland final.

The poster read ‘Jimmy’s Winning Matches Good Luck To The Team – Senator Jimmy Harte.’

He received the fine from Fingal County Council and initially agreed to pay it.

But then the Letterkenny politician decided to visit Fingal and said there were all sorts of anti-Government posters and signs erected which had not been taken down.

He contacted Fingal County Council to make his objections known.

A number of posters were then taken down by the local authority.

Senator Harte said he feels FCC had no intention of removing any other posters of placards until he made his feelings known.

“I don’t mind paying the fine but it’s the inconsistency that’s annoying,” said the Donegal politician.

He said he will pay the fine but under protest.
