A heartbroken widow has appealed to the driver of a car which killed her husband to come forward.

Devastated Gabrielle McDevitt revealed her heartache on the Shaun Doherty Show on Highland Radio today.

Mrs McDevit revealed “I know if it was Eugene who hit someone then he would come forward,” she said.

Mr McDevitt was killed in the early hours on Saturday, September 29th last.

He was walking on the N15 road near his home at Parkhill, Ballyshannon when he was struck by a vehicle.

Eugene, 47, had retired as a chef at Finner Army Base before he retired three years ago.

Mrs McDevitt revealed how Gardai are looking into the possibility that her husband was hit by a Volkswagen Passat car.

“The Gardai ofund a piece of a bumper and are looking for a Passat car. They are appealing for any garages who may have had work done on a Passat to come forward,” she revealed.

Mrs McDevitt said she is struggling to cope with the loss of her husband.

“I’m still waiting for him to come home,” she said.
