RUGBY NEWS: TIR CHONAILL CLUB NOTES

Thank you to everyone that attended the quiz for Tir Chonaill rugby club last friday night it was well supported and great crack was had by all, thanks to Supervalu Dungloe,the Cope Dungloe, JP Baska Locksmiths Dungloe, Brian O’Donnell DIY hardware store Dungloe, Martin Moore gala Loughanure, Top Shop Dungloe, Breege Doherty feileacan designs,all da players and committee members who donated towards the raffle.To Paul McCann for helping sell the tickets.

Also to Mick Patterson and James breslin for doing the questions and scoring and finally Pauline and staff at Careys Viking House Hotel Kincasslagh for the hospitality one of many to come. The total collection money came to €489.50 which will go along way.Our next fundraiser wil be a 70s theme disco in McDaids in acres on 21st dec come along and boogie to old time classics….

This saturday 1st December sees the senior side travel to Altnagelvin Derry to play Londonderry YMCA RFC in the clubs first meeting.We will be travelling with the intentions of coming back with maximum points to kickstart our season.The following week sees us entertain Donaghadee 3 rfc in the much anticipated McCambley cup 1st round,the away side will have a long journey from County Down and wont get it easy on the field either big support is needed for the home game on the 8th December and no doubt the celebrations will continue after the match with Tir Chonails popular warm reception for the away side and of course Tir Chonaill’s 2nd row forward Eddie Sharkey’s birthday that weekend.

Training continues every Tuesday and Thursday for seniors and Tuesdays and Saturdays 6pm and 11am respectively for the youths and juniors all new members are welcome and anyone else is encouraged to come along and give it a go.
