A LIFETIME IN MEATH BUT STILL DREAMING OF DOWNINGS!

Ronan McFadden left Donegal many years ago – 37 years ago in 1975 to be exact.

He now lives in Bettystown, Co Meath.

But like most Donegal people who have scattered to the four corners of the globe, Donegal will always be home.

Ronan was hom last weekend and took this breathtaking picture of Sheephaven Bay from Downings Pier.

“Having grown up here & been away since 1975 I suppose I grew up looking at this view daily and didn’t appreciate its beauty.

“A frosty evening combined with mist produced an image which you would think was from Bali or somewhere in Hawaii,” said Ronan.

We agree Ronan. It’s not Bali or Hawaii but it will always be home.

As Ronan himself  so poignantly put it – “Rugadh, tógadh agus go dtí la mo bháis duine de mhuinntir na nDúnaibh.”
