The stricken fishing vessel, the Mary Ellen, last night eventually made it to shore on its own power after a dramatic day at sea off the coast of Donegal.
Donegal Daily yesterday revealed how the crabber, with five crew men on board, was floating without power a mile and a half off Fanad Head.
The Lough Swilly Lifeboat was dispatched to tow the boat back to port.
However the tow rope snapped a number of times and eventually the All Weather Lifeboat from Portrush was also dispatched to the scene.
Both boats managed to pull the fishing vessel to the mouth of Lough Swilly where its skipper finally found power and the boat returned on its own steam.
There were no injuries after the nine hour ordeal.
