NEW ADDICTION CENTRE COULD CREATE 40 JOBS

Plans are at an advanced stage for a new addictions centre in Co Donegal.

Ballyconnell House in Falcarragh

The centre, which could create up to 40 jobs, is set for Ballyconnel House in Falcarragh.

The property is currently owned by Udaras Na Gaeltachta, could be leased or sold to organisers.

Another addictions centre, WhiteOaks in Muff, enjoys one of the best reputations in the country for helping people overcome various challenges.

Cuan Mhuire, the country’s largest provider of rehab treatment, is believed to be behind the latest plan.

There have already been talks with many local organisations including Cloughaneely GAA Club and the local parish council.

Local Fianna Fail Senator Brian O Domhnaill is also backing the project.

Although Ballyconnell House would need some repair and upgrade work, it is still in working order and locals say it would make a perfect rehab unit with superb gorunds.

As well as professionally trained addictions staff, there would also be posts for cleaners and kitchen staff.
