Former 2FM DJ Nikki Hayes has revealed that getting the boot from RTE helped her fall in love with her Donegal boyfriend.

Nikki and Frank

Nikki revealed it was the need to make money after she was ditched by RTE which saw her end up working in Donegal.

It was while in Letterkenny that Nikki met Frank Black, a soldier whom she has since become engaged to.

Nikki revealed “The only reason I was up there in Letterkenny that night was a one-off. I needed the money, and that’s where we met.”

Now Nikki says she thinks Frank is the man for her.

“I’ve gone through so much crap with guys, I’ve met some rotten guys.

“I know me and Frank have only been together for a year and a half but when it’s right, it’s right,” she aid.
