Gardai in Buncrana are investigating an attempted break-in at a local jeweler’s shop and also another “associated incident.”

Gardai believe the incident happened around 2am on Saturday morning last at Crossan’s Jewelers at Lower Main Street in Buncrana.

An alarm was activated and nothing was taken during the attempted heist.

Garda Inspector David Murphy told Donegal Daily the investigation is still ongoing and cannot disclose too much information at this stage.

“We are still in the middle of out investigation and because of operational reasons, we cannot say too much.

“There was an attempted break-in to Crossans and also an associated incident.

“We would appeal to any taxi-drivers or people who were out socialising at the time of this break-in to contact us if they noticed anybody acting suspiciously,” he said.
