Sights like these stags in Glenveagh National Park may become a thing of the past due to excessive poaching, according to a Donegal environment organisation.

The Gweebarra Conservation Group is calling on local people to lobby the Government to end the hunting season to conserve stocks in the park.

“We are asking people to please email npwsdeerconsultation@ahg.gov.ie to ask that the deer shooting season not be extended due to poaching. Few deer have been seen this year compared to previous years.”
