OLYMPIC marathon runner Caitriona Jennings, top cyclist Philip Deignan and world-beaing boxer Jason Quigley are among more than 700 people already registered for Finn Valley AC’s St Stephen’s Day 5k.

“We’re delighted with the number of entrants and we’d love to get the number to 1,000,” said Race Director Patsy McGonagle.

“It’s great to see Caitriona, Philip and Jason coming along to what is a family event and attracts walkers, joggers and runners.

The event hits the road with all Ireland winers Frank Mc Glynn and Marty O’Reilly getting them underway.

Entries have been coming in via finnvalley1@gmail.com and is simply an indication that you intend coming along thus avoiding the queue as you walk directly into pre registration area.

Otherwise registration kicks in from 10-30 on the day . As with any large mass participation such as this help appreciated whether its in the area of refreshments ,registration ,stewarding or indeed recording . The place to be on Stephen’s Day is Finn Valley Centre getting out in the fresh air for a walk with family and friends a break from the Christmas festivities.
