Labour party rebel Colm Keaveney voted against the Government’s Social Welfare Bill in the recent Budget.

But the Galway TD has strong connections with Donegal long before he was in the corridors of power.

Keaveney was President of the Student’s Union at LYIT in Letterkenny in the early 90s.

Even back then Keaveney was seen as a ‘mover and shaker’ as he brokered better deals for students on accommodation in the town.
