The Viking House was the venue last Friday night for our club social and awards night. There was a great attendance and a great night with Ita Gallagher performing the speeches and presentations on the night. The following awards were presented: Noel Diver – Male Cross Country athlete of the year; Helen Mc Cready – Female Road Running athlete of the year; Bríd Doherty – Club Person of the year; Noreen Mc Gee – Female Cross Country athlete of the year; Aidan Gillespie – Track and Field athlete of the year. Congratulations to Sean McGinley for his performance at the 5k at the Phoenix Park at the weekend. For the diaries, the Naomh Mhuire club are organising a 5k from the clubhouse at the Banks on Boxing day which is a family event for walkers, joggers and runners which will be followed by a club 5k Spring series of three races in the new year with dates in next weeks notes.
