ARANMORE Island brainbox Rose Boyle has narrowly missed out on making it to the Champions Final of Channel Four’s hit show Countdown.

The Dublin-based accountant – an OctoChamp after winning eight shows in a row earlier this year – appeared in today’s semi-final of the Champions show.

Rose had led going into the final stages but eventually lost out to No1 seed Paul James.

“I had a great time,” said Rose of the show, hosted by The Apprentice mentor Nick Hewer.

She did Donegal proud!
