LAST MINUTE SHOPPING SPLURGE AS HOURS DRAW IN TO CHRISTMAS

The last minute Christmas eve rush is on!

Shop-owners are hoping for one last push today to make it a great festive season.

Local businesses are reporting their busiest Christmas season for at least five years.

The roads in and around Letterkenny, Buncrana and Donegal Town are already busy with last-minute gift-hunters.

Traffic in Letterkenny is flowing freely now but it is expected to get much heavier in the early afternoon.

And with many shops closing a little earlier today, people are advised to get into towns quickly.

Some shops are opening on St Stephen’s Day for their annual sales.

And the bad news is that the chance of a white Christmas is almost zero!

Met Eireann says Christmas day will be mild with the odd shower.
