The post-Christmas sales open with a bang today with half-price offers in stores across the county.

Large crowds expected at Evolve sale today

Retailers have reported the best pre-Christmas business for more than five years and want to keep the tills ringing into the New Year.

Some of your favourite shops including Evolve Menswear and McElhinney’s Stores will have customers queueing out the door with a range of offers.

The McCloskey brothers have low prices all year ’round at Evolve but today’s sale, which starts at 10am, will be jam-packed with even more bargains.

There’s 50% off almost everything, including more than 100 pairs of G-Star jeans at half price while other major brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Jack & Jones, Selected, Fred Perry, Fynch Hatton, Base London, Lacoste and all brands in the shop are reduced to clear.

If you need a suit, shirt, tie or shoes….. Evolve Suit Department is having is biggest ever suit clearance. Also dress trousers are all slashed in price while footwear is clearing from just €15.

While the men can get off to an early start at Evolve, the ladies (and men!) can go online at mcelhinneys.com – or wait until tomorrow to search for bargains at McElhinney’s in Ballybofey.

The crowds will gather for McElhinney's sale which starts tomorrow (Thurs).

The store opens its doors at 11am but the good news is that it will open until 8pm and the sale will last all week including Sunday opening!

The store is advertising the sale as the “biggest winter sale ever” and you just know there is going to be bargains galore throughout the store.

All the top brand names will be slashed so any cash people have saved over the Christmas period will have even more spending power at McElhinneys.

Other stores across Buncrana, Letterkenny, Ballyshannon and Donegal Town are also starting many St Stephen’s Day sales today.
