OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIt’s that time of year again Craoibhín Community & Enterprise Centre in Termon are Launching their 2nd Annual Operation Transformation.

After the amazing success of last year’s participants, it was decided to run the event again this year to coincide with the RTE programme. Craoibhín are now working with Local Businessman Mairtin Kelly, Kelly’s Restaurant and Centra shop in Mountain Top Letterkenny.

The two companies will work together to provide a diverse range of services and products to make this year’s Operation Transformation even better.

Last year a 70 strong group of people came together in Mid January with around 30 members attending a weekly weigh in and losing an amazing 32 stone in 6 weeks, members also completed their first 5k in March with several competing in 5 & 10k throughout the summer. One of our transformers ran in the Dublin City marathon an amazing achievement.

This year with the help of Kelly’s Centra and Restaurant Mountain Top there will be a large range of foods available in both the Shop & Restaurant that are calorie counted and in a designated help in the shop for convenience. Gareth Burke Kellys Head Chef, will be on hand to give advise, create menus as well as perform cooking demonstrations here in the centre, Gareths menus for Termons Operation Transformation will be all calorie counted.

The fitness side of the programme will be run by Craoibhín Gym Manager Dermot Kelly, a full timetable of evening and daytime classes will be available in January. Along with Dermot, he will be helped by some of last years members who have continued training throughout the year.

The Group from Craoibhín got a mention the RTE programme at the end of January. We are hoping that this year RTE will come and visit the centre and meet with the participants. It was a great fundraiser for our centre last year with all the community getting involved.

With your participation we hope to make this years even more successful, to join our group its simple just, contact the centre on 074 91 19988 , over the holidays contact us via Facebook or on 086 8437407 to get more information. If you are interested come along to our registration and information evening here in the centre on Wednesday 2nd January at 7pm and wear your sports gear, training will start on 2nd also!
