UNION JX FACTOR stars Union J have cancelled a gig due to take place today (Thursday) at the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny.

The news came just a few hours after winners of tickets to the event had been notified by the hotel.

Promoters Poptastic said all the Irish gigs had been cancelled after one of the band members George was injured in an accident.

The singer later tweeted to fans apologising for missing the trip to Donegal.

“So sorry to everyone in Ireland. I have had an accident so we won’t be able to perform tomorrow, so our gigs have been pulled. Sorry,” he tweeted.

Many fans have been left angry and disappointed by the news.

One angry mum who contacted Donegal Daily said: “It’s bad news for my two girls who were looking forward to it.

“Nothing we can do about it now, but we hope they come in the next week or so.”

Tickets had sold out for the event. Many had been offered in prizes and raffles in the run up to Christmas.
