INTERNET trolls have duped hundreds of people on Facebook into entering a car competition that doesn’t exist.
The trolls – based in north Donegal – have been behind a year long campaign of bullying and abuse online aimed at the Donegal Daily team.
Their latest scam was to set up a Facebook page called ‘The Donegal Daily News’. The trolls then posted a fake competition to win a Ford car.
Hundreds of people have ‘liked’ the bogus competition. Ford has disassociated itself from the competition.
The page has nothing whatsoever to do with Donegal Daily.
We have reported the page to Facebook – and we would ask our readers to also report the page.
We have identified the culprits and are planning legal action.
