A WOMAN has escaped a fire in Downings today.
The blaze began at her home in the townland of Derryhassan shortly after 8.30am.
The property – a former school – has been extensively damaged in the incident.
Two fire crews remain at the scene. Gardai don’t believe the incident is suspicious. The house owner was unhurt in the incident.
