The scene of the crash at Glencar just minutes after it flipped onto its roof.

Residents in the Glencar area of Letterkenny have said it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt or killed in the area.

Their claims follow yet another crash on the dangerous stretch of road in which a car flipped onto its roof.

Our dramatic picture shows the scene just a couple of minutes after the crash.

It is understood the driver is being treated at Letterkenny General Hospital but his injuries are not understood to be serious.

Residents living close to the scene say it is the 22nd crash on the road in the last four years.

They have lobbied Letterkenny Town Council but say they are not satisfied with the lack of action.

One local resident said: “The council told us they would paint 60kph signs on the road but you might as well paint Mickey Mouse on the road.

“That is not going to slow cars down. What we need are good ramps which will force cars to slow down.

“If that is not done soon, someone is going to be killed and the council cannot say they have not been warned.”
