TAI CHI CLASSES TO BEAT THE JANUARY BLUES

Tai-Chi-GroupWith mental and physical health becoming a greater concern for the local community in recent times the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny is now offering people a unique chance to manage stress through the the ancient Chinese martial art of Tai Chi.

Originally developed for self-defence, Tai Chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that’s now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions.

Often described as meditation in motion, Tai Chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. Tai Chi is low impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels.

With the emphasis on body awareness, students will be thought

1. Attention to Posture

2. Correct Alignment

3. Breath Awareness

4. Gentle exercises through Martial Arts

The instructor for this course will be Mary Ronayne who is part of the World Chen Taiji Association.

It will start on Tuesday 21st of January 11 – 12.15 and continue for 8 weeks at a cost of €50.
