Football Competitions:
Fixtures for the 2012/13 season are now on the website. Teachers are encouraged to play as many blitzes as possible in their section in order to give the pupils as much game time as possible. Results should be recorded and the school with the most wins will qualify for the knockout stages in April.
Mouth Guards:
Teachers please note that from Jan. 1st 2013, it is compulsory for all players to wear mouthguards during Cumann na mBunscol football competitions. Players will not be allowed on to the field of play without one after this date. This is a directive from the National Committee of the GAA and will also be implemented at club level.
Quiz:
The divisonal quizzes will be held on Wed. 30th January. An email will be sent shortly to all schools detailing times and venues of each quiz. Teachers please note that its one entry per school with the top three schools qualifying for the county finals in mid February.
Indoor Football:
An email has been sent to all schools in relation to the boys and girls indoor football competitions. Schools must reply to the email by Tues. 22nd January if they are entering the competitions. It is hoped to run the competitions in late February. Teachers please note that all children must be U-12 on 1st July 2012 to be eligible for these competitions. it is a 5-a-side competiton with a panel of 8 players.
