DONEGAL singer Mark McLaughlin is through to the next round of RTE’s ‘The Voice’ – after taking to the stage just a few days after his father’s death.

Judges on the TV show didn’t know about Mark’s secret heartache when he was singing.

In the end both Kian Egan and Sharon Corr turned around for Mark.

Mark decided to pick Sharon – laughing afterwards that it was because she said her mum was from Donegal.

“I know what you are going through,” said Sharon as Mark told of his father’s recent death.

He’s the third Donegal singer to make it through to the next round.

In this interview, you can hear more. Press Play to watch the video.
