UPDATE

Donegal Schoolboys had four teams in action at the week-end all competing in the opening round of the Inter-League Series 2013. Our Under-12s travelled to Inishowen where they lost out by two goals to nil. That was to be our only reversal of the week-end as the other three teams recorded victories, all against Inishowen opposition. The Under-13 side played on Sunday in a match that was switched from Ballyare to Rab’s Park in Kerrykeel. Joseph Mc Gill of Convoy Arsenal got the important goal to ensure an opening day victory for the Johnny Keys managed side. The Under-15s travelled to Inishowen and recorded a victory , winning with the only goal of the match scored by Paul Carr. Gerry Rodden’s Under-16 side hosted the lads from the Inishowen League in Gweedore on Saturday afternoon and comfortably won by five goals to nil. Ciaran Maloney (2), Kieran Mc Pherson and Adam Mc Hugh (2) were the players on target. Mc Hugh’s brace capped a special week for the Leitir family who saw Adam’s older brother Carl help Bradford City to a Wembley Cup Final slot when they took victory over Aston Villa on Tuesday night at Villa Park. Carl himself is a former Donegal Schoolboys player and the League wish him all the best for February 24th when he will hopefully line out against Swansea at Wembley.
