DONEGAL MAKE QUIET RETURN TO CROKE PARK FOR NATIONAL LEAGUE CAMPAIGN

What a contrast in Donegal’s return to Croke Park today from when they were last here.Jim McGuinness

Less than 100 people watched Donegal emerge from the heart of Croke Park to warm up just after 4.15pm this afternoon.

Jim McGuinness’ side take on Kildare in the first game of this season’s Allianz National League.

It’ll be a tough game against Kieran McGeeney’s side and probably the first real competitive game since the All-Ireland final.

However, Donegal showed their intentions with a full warm-up well before Kildare even took to the pitch.

The tiny crowd didn’t stop Jim McGuinness getting his team in a huddle to signal their intentions for a victory at GAA headquarters today.

There are still just five thousand or so hearty souls as Croke Park.

An exciting afternoon’s football is in store.
