Donegal defender Eamon McGee has admitted his team were under pressure to get a result against Down in the National League last night.Eamon McGee

The Gaoth Dobhair man was speaking after Jim McGuinness’ side put behind an indifferent first half to win easily by five points at Ballybofey.

But McGee admitted “We were under pressure after the Kildare result so we really needed the win.

“We didn’t give a good showing in the first half but we were very good in the second half and we’re delighted to get the points.

“It’s good to get the points on the board and we need to settle down now and ad to those points going forward.

“Our aim will always be the first championship game against Tyrone but we can continue to learn and improve with these league games.”
