MARK MCHUGHJUST four members of Donegal’s All-Ireland winning team have been named in the Ulster squad for the forthcoming Football Interprovincial series – Tyrone have eight representatives.

Michael Murphy, Neil McGee, Eamon McGee and Mark McHugh (pictured) have all been chosen by manager Joe Kernan, who will tomorrow name his side to face Munster.

The semi-final clash will take place at the Athletic Grounds, Armagh on Sunday. The final will be staged a week later.

Kernan has named an initial 26-strong squad, with Monaghan’s Darren Hughes chosen as captain.

“Players love playing in this competition, it is an honour to wear the Ulster jersey and a great experience for any player,” said former Armagh boss Kernan.

“Not everyone, and not every team, can win an All-Ireland title but this competition provides an opportunity for the best players across all Ulster counties to play together and to play against the rest of Ireland.

“That is something really special and it is a competition we should cherish.

“Ulster are 100% behind this competition, and we’re in it to win it – to bring back the third consecutive Inter Provincial Cup to Ulster.”

Ulster squad for Football Interprovincials : Armagh – Kieran McKeever; Antrim – Kevin Niblock; Fermanagh – Tommy McElroy; Down – Brendan McVeigh, Paul McComiskey, Mark Poland, Benny Coulter; Monaghan – Darren Hughes (captain), Kieran Hughes, Conor McManus; Cavan – David Gibney, Geroid McKiernan; Tyrone – Pascal McConnell, Joe McMahon, Sean Cavanagh, Martin Penrose, Peter Harte, Cathal McCarron, Justin McMahon, Conor McAliskey; Donegal – Michael Murphy, Neil McGee, Eamon McGee, Mark McHugh; Derry – Chrissy McKaigue, Dermot McBride.
