SKAbaret KICKS OFF IN GOATH DOBHAIR THIS WEEKEND

Gaoth Dobhair’s monthly Irish language music and entertainment event, Cabaret Craiceáilte returns to Hiudai Beag’s pub this Saturday, with a feast of SKA , Rock, Pop, Blues and Traditional music in Irish.Bos Sound Manifesto

Following last weekend’s 50th celebrations in the famous music pub, the Cabaret keeps the flame lit with a top class line up of bands from various parts of the country.

Belfast based SKA band, BOSS SOUND MANIFESTO pay their second visit to the Cabaret, while Dublin Rock/Pop act, SEO LINN visit the Cabaret for the first time.

Also on the bill is the legendary traditional musician from Dundalk, Gerry ‘Fidil’ O Connor, from La Lugh, and Oirialla.Gerry will be joined by some of Dundalk’s finest, including blues singer Jim Johnston, Tom Kindle and Tom’ banjo’ Wynne.

The Cabaret is run on a voluntary basis, once a month in Gaoth Dobhair, and at different festivals throughout Ireland. Every penny made goes straight back into the fund to pay the musicians, costs and to promote the event.

The aim is to promote Irish language music, provide a platform for Irish language singers and musicians, and to provide an Irish language social/entertainment scene in the Gaeltacht and the Galltacht.

This Saturday’s Cabaret Craiceáilte, kicks off in Hiúdaí’s at 9pm.

 

Beidh ceol Ska, Rac, Pap, Gormachaí, agus Traidisiúnta, i nGaeilge le cloisteáil ag príomh ócáid síamsaíochta na nGael, An Chabaret Chraiceáilte, Tigh Hiúdaí, An Bun Beag, i nGaoth Dobhair, Dé Sathairn seo, 23 Feabhra ar a 9 a’chlog.

Beidh máistrí an SKA, BOSS SOUND MANIFESTO ag teacht as Beal Feirste, le muintir Ghaoth Dobhair a chur ag scancáil ar úrlár stáiriúl Thigh Hiúdaí. Chur an BSM seit amhráin i nGaeilge, le chéile, go speisíalta don Chabaret anuraidh, agus anois tá seit níos mó agus níos faide, acu chun croíthe agus cosa na nGael a chur ag preabarnaigh. Deir príomh amhránaí an ghrúpa, Buzz Ó Bríain, go bhfuil siad ar bís le bheith páirteach sa Chabaret arís, agus go raibh gig na bliana anuraidh ar cheann do bhuaicphoinntí saoil an ghrúpa.

Beidh SEO LINN Rac & Pap Ghrúpa Gaelach, as Baile Atha Cliath, ag teacht chuig an Chabaret, den chéad uair, an deireadh seachtaine seo. Tá iomrá mhór leo sa phríomh cháthair, agus tá lucht leanúna nach beag meallta acu le bliain anuas.

Beidh an chuid is fearr do cheol traidisiúnta cheantar Oirialla le cluinstin fosta ó laoch na fidile, GERRY O CONNOR ( La Lugh/Oirghialla) í gcuideachta scoth na gceoltoiri as Dún Dealgán, Tom Kindle, Tom ‘banjo ‘ Wynne & Jim ‘na gormachai’ Johnston (a cheolann “ar Thoir na gCaisleain Oir” &rl ).

Beidh aoí cheoltoiri/damhsóiri/síamsóiri eile, ar an ardán fosta, De Sathairn seo, 23 Feabhra 9pm, Tigh Hiudai Bhig, An Bun Beag, Gaoth Dobhair.

Eagraítear an Chabaret go deonach, chun tionscal ceoil na Gaeilge a spreagadh, chomh maith le saol sóisialta & siamsaíochta a chur ar fail do Ghaeil. Ón uair gur thosaigh sé tá cuid mhór grúpaí tar eis seit i nGaeilge a chur le chéile go speisialta don Chabaret agus tá réabhlóid an cheoil ag dul ó neart go neart mar gheall air.

Deir ráiteas ón Chabaret nach dtiocfadh leo é a dhéanamh gan an chuidiú ó lucht gnó an cheantair, go speisialta, Teach Hiúdaí, Teach Sheáin Óig, Siopa Mhicí, Siopa Mhatt, agus Teach Lóistín an Bhun Bhig.
