Dates for SEA SESSIONS, Ireland’s biggest and best surfing and music festival have been announced for June 21 – 23, 2013 and will be back for its sixth successive year at Bundoran, Co. Donegal.

As well as Bundoran, or “Fundoran” to the surfing community, the festival will include tour events at Lahinch and Sligo.

Following on from its hugely successful tour last year the SEA SESSIONS EXPRESSION SESSION will bring the best in international surfing competitions and a unique surf-inspired party atmosphere to the selected beaches and venues.

This year SEA SESSIONS has been selected as a specialty event by the Association of Surfing Professionals Europe. This will attract even greater numbers of competitors and spectators from Ireland and abroad.

David O’Donnell, Irish Senior Surf Champ secured the title in 2012 and is now looking forward to competing in Europe in 2013.

David said, “”The Sea Sessions event is really fun. It’s got it all, from a surfers perspective it’s a great opportunity to compete against some of Europe’s top pro surfers, which we might otherwise not get the opportunity to do, plus the (surf) event is right on the festival’s doorstep so it’s really exciting and there’s loads of energy and a great buzz in the air. I am really looking forward to competing in it again this year”

SEA SESSIONS is also delighted to announce an exciting addition to this year’s festival “Brushboarding” Brought to the festival by Mountain Dew Energy, it’s a brand new urban sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.

Ray O’Donoghue, Festival Director said “ This year we will have an opening party in Dublin to start the Festival, moving on then to the surfing venues. We have top acts booked for the tour, promising packed out venues for each party”

Pete Craig, Festival Director of Surfing said, “ Response to the SEA SESSIONS is already buzzing. Last year’s winner, William Aliotti, has already been enquiring about this year’s entrants. We also want to have the best Irish surfers in Bundoran to take on the European stars. Our young Irish surfers are going to push these guys to the limit. We’d like to see the crown stay at home this year”.

Ticket sales for the three nights of the Festival are already brisk and can be obtained through Entertainment.ie and the Festival website www.seasessions.com. Details are also on www. facebook.com/seasessions and you can follow on twitter.com/seasessions.
