DOORMAN SUFFERS HORRIFIC EYE INJURY AFTER BEING GLASSED BY ATTACKER

A doorman received a serious eye injury when he was allegedly struck with a glass during an incident in Letterkenny last night.Garda tape

The victim was working at the Central Bar on the town’s Main Street when he was approached by a man.

There were words and it is understood a glass was produced and the doorman was struck.

He was rushed to Letterkenny General Hospital where he was treated for a serious eye injury.

The incident happened just after 11pm.

A man, understood to be from the North, was arrested a short time later close by and taken to Letterkenny Garda station where he has been detained.

Gardai have launched a full investigation into the incident.

The doorman’s injuries are not understood to be life-threatening.
