GAA NEWS: NAOMH COLMCILLE CLUB NOTES

Weekly NotesNAOMH COLMCILLE GAA

The U10s took part in a blitz in Derry on Saturday against Ardmore, Derrytrasna and Claudy. Most of the team have moved up from u8s, and performed very well in their 3 games.

The use of mouthguards for all underage players will be compulsory from this year onwards, and for all ages (including seniors) from next year. More details available at http://www.gaa.ie/mouthguards/; and on the club website.

 

 

 

The club’s ‘football for fun’ program continues on Fridays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on the astro turf; €2 per child. The program will be for 6-12 year olds.

 

 

 

There is an astroturf tournament on Saturday 2nd March at Pairc Colmcille; 6-a-side with 2 subs. €50 entry per team. €150 for winners. 16 teams straight knock out. Soup, sandwiches and light refreshments on the day. Proceeds to Naomh Colmcille. To enter a team contact Stephen on 086-7785999

 

 

 

A sports quiz is being held on 15th March; more details to follow.

 

 

 

A Night at the Races is being organised on Easter Sunday (31st March); more details to follow.

 

 

 

Registrations for 2013 are now available from Sharon Monaghan (registrar) – senior player €50, non-playing member €20, junior member €10, family membership €50. Registration will be taken at the AGM. Registrations will only be taken up to 25th March 2013.

 

 

 

Copies of the Donegal yearbook (€10 each) are now available from Catherine Clarke.

The club is again registered for the Sainsbury’s Active Kids scheme so please start collecting the vouchers on behalf of the club.

Training Schedule

 

Information here is correct at the time of compilation of the weekly notes. Check the Training Schedule section on the club website for latest updates on training for all age groups. The page will be updated daily. Updates also on the club’s Facebook page.

 

Subscription of €2 per player per week. Please make sure you bring your full kit (shorts, track bottoms, boots, sports top/hoodie/coat, drink). Remember a mouth guard is needed for training sessions as well as matches. All players need to be registered by 25th March.

 

 

 

U8. U8 training starts Saturday 16th March at 11:00 am sharp for one hour.

 

U10. U10 training starts Friday 15th March at 6:30 pm sharp for one hour.

 

U12. U12 training starts Friday 15th March at 6:30 pm sharp for one hour.

 

U14. U14 training starts Saturday 2nd March at 12 noon sharp for one hour.

 

Minors. Training on Monday (25th) at 8 pm. Membership needs to be paid at training. See Facebook page and website for more updates during the week.

 

Seniors / Reserves. Training at the pitch on Tuesday (26th) and Thursday (28th) at 8:00 pm. Bring boots and runners. Challenge match on Saturday – details at training and on club website during the week.

 

 

 

Naomh Colmcille Weekly Lotto

 

The numbers drawn were 15, 3, 10, 12, 18. Closest match was four numbers; the winner of €75 was Matt/Conal/Jordan McDaid, The Club would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support of the Lotto as it gives the club the essential means of continuing to give our local kids and adults the chance to avail of a great and healthy pastime.
