DONEGAL’S latest sporting hero may have been held shoulder high as he came home at the weekend as the new Irish Elite Champion.

But 22-year-old superstar of the ring Jason Quigley is keeping his feet firmly on the ground.

The Finn Valley boxer stormed to fight success at the National Arena in Dublin on Friday night.

And he admitted to Donegal Daily that he’s still taking it all in.

“I’m absolutely buzzing,” said Jason.

“I worked so hard for this title and it all paid off in the end.”

But does he have ambitions for fighting in the Olympics for Ireland in Rio in 2016?

“My ambition is to keep doing what I’m doing and keep performing well and winning titles and we’ll see what happens,” said the classy boxer.

And he insists he wouldn’t be where he is without the support of his family – especially his dad and uncle.

“I just want to thank my family for all the hard work the put into me and everything they do for me,” said Jason.

“And of course my two coaches my father Conor and my uncle Billy.’
