ROSSES NEWS: St Patricks day celebrations – Burtonport 12-2
Come and join us on St Patricks day 12 – 2 in St Columba’s community centre, Acres, Burtonport, for our annual St Patricks Day Celebration of Irish culture.
Entertainment on the day is free and includes – traditional music and dancing, marching bands, traditional games, free tea/coffee and stew etc.. If you have money to spend however there will be plenty of ways in which to do it. There will be fun games, raffles, rickety wheel, lucky leprechaun’s hat etc… that you can spend your money on. All donations and takings on the day will go towards the local the local lifeboat and the local summer festival.
This event is a bring and share event which means that we need as many of you as possible to bring along a tray of sandwiches, packet of biscuits/buns or some traditional baking, to share with others over a cup of tea and some craic. If anyone fancies trying your hand at traditional recipies such as fadge, boxty, pancakes, etc…. this would be greatly appreciated. In past years we have run out of food so we need as many donations of food as we can get.
We would also appreciate help setting up the day before. We will be at the community centre from 1.00 on Saturday 16 March if you can help with the set up or if you’d like to drop in some baking. Looking forward to seeing you. Thank you.
