6021_527228577328783_1757559486_nMalin GAA Centre should be packed to capacity on Friday night as it play host to some of the best traditional Singers, Musicians and Dancers ever to appear in the club, organized by CLG Bord Inis Eoghain, as part of the celebrations for Seachtain na Gaeilge which reaches a conclusion on St Patrick’s Day.

Special guest on the night will be well-known musician and singer Niamh McGlinchey from Lavey in Co Derry, who was an All Ireland Scor Na nOg winner in 2008, a finalist in the RTE All Ireland Talent Show in 2009 and had the pleasure of singing at the National League Final in Dublin in 2010.

She has been playing regularly at concerts and clubs since, which included the Millennium Forum in Derry with Cara Dillon.

Making the trip from the Donegal Gaelacht will be The Gaoth Dobhair Ballad Group, who are Donegal and Ulster Champions 2013, having played at the All Ireland Finals before a packed Venue in Derry just three weeks ago.

The young five piece group of four girls and one male are renowned for their Irish Music and are all members of An Crannog in Gweedore, they play regularly in various parts of the county as well as many parts of Scotland and have also been to America in recent times.

Among the local acts that will be performing will be Luryn Mulholland, from Buncrana, the Malin musicians, dancers and a solo singer, JP Bradley from Carndonagh and a group of singers from Moville.

Young Lauryn Mulholland will be making her first appearance since the All Ireland Schools Talent Finals in The Helix in Dublin last weekend. The fourteen year old has been extremely busy over the winter months, making it through various heats to qualify from the semi final in Castlebar last month.

She was also successful in the Dun Na nGall Scor Na nOg Solo Singing section, prior to Christmas, progressing to the Ulster Semi Final and final where she put in a tremendous performance in front of an audience of over 700 people in St Cecilias School in Derry.

Malin GAA Club are well represented by a number of performers which include their much traveled Irish Dancers, who will be appearing on TG4 Scor Encore next month. They will be joined by the local traditional musicians who appeared on Tg4 last weekend and were unlucky not to make the quarterfinals of the TV Show.

Solo singer Eimear McColgan completes the line up from the local club, while JP Bradley from Carndonagh will as always perform some recitations. A singing group will also represent Moville while it is expected more names will be added to the lineup before Friday night.

Admission to the traditional night is only Euro 5 and that includes supper, which appears to be excellent value for money considering the talent on show, doors open at 8.30 pm with first performer on stage at 9.00 pm.
