Liberty Insurance may sponsor The Late Late Show but last night it was Donegal which brought the country’s most popular television show to the nation.tubridy looked stupid and ignorant on late late

Even presenter Ryan Tubridy admitted it appeared as if the show had been sponsored by the men and women from Tir Chonail.

President Michael D Higgins first boasted how he was delighted to be wearing a Donegal tweed suit.

The show then went on to feature the Towns Towns efforts to break the World Record for people with the same name gathering in the same place.

A group of well-known faces from the Twin Towns including local county councillor Patrick McGowan could be spotted in the audience flying the flag for the county.

If that wasn’t enough two people with the derivative of the name Patrick – namely Patricia and Paddy – played the audience game.

The won of course and the prize was …….a night for two people for every person in the audience at the four star Jackson’s Hotel in Ballybofey.

If Tourism Ireland were hoping for a free plug for Donegal, they had already received more than their fair share.

But if that wasn’t enough, the phone-in prize of a trip to New York with spending money was Kathleen O’Brien – from Donegal!

The Late Late Show – as sponsored by all that is great about Donegal.
