A man in his 20s has been arrested in relation to an alleged attack on a man in Falcarragh on St Patrick’s night.

The man was arrested this morning and is being held at Glenties Garda station.

A 47 year old man, named locally as Patrick McLaughlin, suffered a serious head injury after he was struck outside Flynn’s Bar at 12.30am.

He is currently in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin with a serious head injury.
