Falcarragh attackA 47-year-old man punched and injured in an attack in Falcarragh is fighting for his life in a Dublin hospital.

Patsy McLaughlin was hit once outside a bar in the town in the early hours of yesterday.

He was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital before being transferred to the Beaumont Hospital where he is in a “critical” condition.

It’s understood Gardai have obtained CCTV footage of the incident.

It shows Mr McLaughlin being punched before falling to the ground during the attack at 12.30am yesterday.

Gardai in Falcarragh are investigating the assault.

The victim is well known in the town and Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

“He’s in a critical condition and has suffered a very serious head injury,” said one local man last night.
