Carn 3-1 Killylough
All the action in this game came in the first twenty five minutes Carn started the brighter and had a good chance on the 3rd min when Michael Byrne’s corner found Gerard Mc Elhinney but he headed wide when well placed, Carn did take the lead on 10 min when a good run by Daniel mc Laughlin on the left he picked out Shane Doherty in the box and he slotted low past David Balintine in the Killylough goal it was two nil a minute later when Doherty grabbed his second after Ballintine fumbled a cross and three minutes later it was 3-0 when in a repeat of the first goal Mc Laughlin crossed for Doherty to complete his hat trick Killylough pulled a goal back on 22 min when Darragh Stirrup’s corner found Colin Mc Kenna and he headed past Crossan in the home net on 27 min Shane Doherty turned provider bur Connor Doherty turned his cross wide from 15 yards, Killylough’s Mc Keague then had a good run on the right his cross found Ronan Stirrup but he drove wide Killylough were unlucky on 43 min when Mulligan found Stirrup he rounded keeper Crossan but Kevin Hirrell got back to clear off the line in the second half Mc Elhinney fired wide from a Mathew Byrne corner, Gerard Crossan had to be alert on 60 min to tip a Stirrup free over the bar Connor Doherty then put in a cross which Cathal Doherty drove over Carn restricted Killylough to long range efforts which didn’t trouble Crossan and Carn progress to the Ulster Junior Cup final

Moville Celtic 5 2 Illies Celtic
Home striker Nigel Mc Monagle consolidated his position at the top of the Premier Division goalscoring charts with a four goal blast against the visitors.Illies were first to threaten when Liam O’ Connor set up Joe Mc Daid but his effort was off target. Moville moved in front after 8 minutes when Sean Doherty crossed from the right allowing Joe Doherty to square the ball to Nigel Mc Monagle who drove home from close in. That lead could have been doubled but Graham Doherty reacted well to fingertip Raymond Campbell’s header onto the crossbar before it was cleared. At the other end Hutchinson pulled his shot wide of the target when he gained possession at the edge of the Moville box. Barr then released Mc Monagle who raced clear but his shot was outside the post. Illies James Mc Gonagle then ran at the home defence but after cutting inside his shot was saved by Mc Guinness. With half time approaching goalkeeper Doherty denied Boyce who bore down on goal after accepting a pass from Campbell. In a counter attack Joe Mc Daid won a ball and teed up Hutchinson but he shot over when well placed. The visitors threatened early in the second half with Niall Mc Daid unsuccessful with an overhead kick and Joe Mc Daid shooting wide. They drew level on 62 minutes when Joe Mc Daid broke away on the left hand side and chipped over Mc Guinness for 1 – 1. Moville replied immediately when Conor Mc Laughlin floated the ball into the box where Mc Monagle controlled and fired home from 8 yards. Then Boyce got on the end of an over the top chip from Barr to beat the offside trap and shoot to the net. With 5 minutes remaining it was 4 – 1 when Mc Monagle latched onto a Boyce header, rounded Doherty and scored. Illies then reduced the deficit when O’ Connor got on the end of a rebound after Mc Guinness had parried a Paddy Doherty long range shot. Right at the end sub Michael Brendan Doherty won the ball in midfield and laid off to Mc Monagle to race from close to the half way line and finish to the net.
Clonmany Shamrocks 3-1 Aileach F.C.
The wind had a big part to play in this game with a very low key opening half hour. After this the game came to life when Anthony Shivey drove across goal from the right for goalkeeper Patrick Harkin to parry out as far as Darren Mc Monagle but his fiercely driven attempt could not find anyone to apply the final touch. Harkin was again called into action when Mc Monagle broke through but the keeper blocked his effort and a Mickey Grant header completed the clearance. On 39 minutes Clonmany’s Paul Mc Laughlin delivered a free to Jason Devlin and he carried the ball forward and teed up Mark Mc Laughlin for a shot which was saved by the keeper. Just before the break, the deadlock was broken when Devlin unleashed a shot from 30 yards and the ball went all the way to the bottom corner through a crowded penalty area. With the wind to their advantage in the second half the home side upped the tempo. After Mark Mc Laughlin’s cross shot was dealt with by the keeper Clonmany struck for a second goal. Devlin took a free on the left and the alert evergreen Raymond Mc Daid flicked the ball to the net past Carlin. Clonmany pressed home their advantage and went further ahead minutes later. Good interplay involving both Jason and Mickey Den resulted in the latter lobbing the ball across to the back post where sub Alan Friel headed home. To their credit Aileach kept plugging away and Harkin had to make a double save from Ciaran Craig and a follow up shot from Stephen Doherty. The visitors did get on the scoresheet with 7 minutes remaining when Shivey was brought down in the box and he converted the resulting penalty.
Strand Hotel First Division Reports
Rasheney F.C. 1 2 QPS
Earlier league encounters between these two sides ended in a clear cut victory to each side. This was their third meeting and the visitors victory in this match kept them on course in their attempt to clinch the title. A strong wind in their backs saw QPS having the upper hand throughout the first half. Early on a short cross from Raymond Buchanan saw Odhran Mc Colgan head just over. On 18 minutes the home goal had a let off when Dean Barron’s goalbound shot cannoned off the head of defender Paddy Nelson who was well positioned close to the line. In continued pressure both Paul Grant and Barron had attempts on goal but the ball was just over on both occasions. At the other end John Grant twice released John Mc Laughlin with diagonal forward passes but the ball was wide of target each time. Buchanan then had a shot from 22 yards that went wide and Mc Colgan drove for goal after the ball fell kindly to him but Noone hacked away his low shot. The home side benefitted from the wind in the second half and went ahead on 50 minutes when Mc Laughlin’s corner was bundled home in a crowded goalmouth with Donal Kelly getting the final touch. After Buchanan’s free from 23 yards was just wide of the right hand post, QPS equalised on 57 minutes when Karl Donnelly’s shot was partially blocked allowing Mc Colgan to score from 4 yards. Then Barron had a snapshot gathered by Noone. However Rasheney were also creating openings of their own. Friel just failed to connect at the back post with Kelly’s shot from the angle of the area before Mc Laughlin had a strong shot parried up into the air by Conor Mc Colgan. At the other end Buchanan drove across goal only for Mc Carron to draw a neat save from Noone. With 10 minutes remaining QPS claimed the winner when Donnelly’s left wing cross into the centre allowed Barron to score from 14 yards. Shortly afterwards Buchanan’s free evaded all in the box but Noone made a low claim.
Moville Celtic Res. 1 2 Dunree Utd
This victory keeps Dunree out in front at the head of the division. The home team with the benefit of a strong wind dominated the first half but found it difficult to carve out goalscoring opportunities. Mid way through the half the visitors took the lead when T.J. Mc Kinley’s cross was deflected past Maurice Mc Geady by an unfortunate defender. Moville drew level after half an hour when Josh Lafferty fired a 30 yard free past Paul Mc Gettigan into the top right corner of the net. In the second half and with the wind in their backs it was Dunree who were on top. They pressed Moville back although they found goalscoring chances difficult to create. However, on 82 minutes substitute Ryan Bradley sidestepped a defender and fired past Mc Geady for what turned out to be the winner. Moville did have two chances to get back on level terms late on. Mc Gettigan saved smartly from Sean Downey before Christy Mc Geoghan missed the target from 6 yards.
Greencastle 2-0 Carrowmena
This game was reversed to Carrowmena and the home side created the first chance on 2 min when Finbar Mc Callion crossed for Eamonn Doherty who’s shot was blocked by Mike Price, Greencastle responded with Jamie Mc Cormick’s 20yd drive saved by Mark Doherty in the Carrowmena net, Greencastle created another opening when Connor Barrow picked out Kieran Moore and his shot was just over the bar, then James Henry won the ball in midfield and found Mc Cormick his effort was wide of the post, Greencastle took the lead after 15 min when a long ball out of defence by Gavin Harkin was headed on by Michael Barr to Mc Cormick who volleyed to the net from 8 yards, Carrowmena responded with JP Mc Dermott’s 30 yard effort being tipped over the bar by Philip Mc Clennaghan, at the other end Sean Mc Quillan broke down the left and drew a fine save from Doherty from the resulting Mc Cormick corner Ruari Dougal’s header was tipped over the crossbar, Carrowmena’s Gerard Gill had a long range effort saved by Mc Clennaghan early in the second half Sean Mc Quillan picked out Barrow his effort was blocked by a defender, Carrowmena then had a great chance when Mc Callion raced clear but Mc Clennaghan was quickly off his line to deny him, Michael Barr then shot wide for Greencastle from the edge of the area play swung the other way and John Crumlish was denied by Mc Clennaghan, Greencastle went two ahead on 70 min when Mc Quillan was upended in the box and mike Price converted the spot kick, Carrowmena then created two good chances the first when Greard Gill rounded the Keeper but Price got back to clear then a Benny Doherty shot was cleared off the line by Gavin Harkin following a corner
Gleneely 1-5 Buncrana
Buncrana took a early lead when Kieran Mc Daid scored after 2 min from a Johnny Eccles cross, the second came on 43 min when Patrick Mc Myler scored from 6 yards following a cross from the right and Eccles made it three on 56 min when he shot low past Keeper Monney Gleneely pulled a goal back on 63 min when Daniel Nolan crossed from the left and Billy Mc Cann converted from the edge of the area, Buncrana increased their lead on 70 min when Paddy Fletcher rounded Mooney for 4-1 Alan Friel then completed the scoring when he chipped Mooney from 35 yards

As Sea Rovers failed to field QPS are awarded a 2-0 vivtory
Cockhill Res 2-1 Culdaff Res
Like all games today the strong wind affected the game Culdaff had the first opportunity when Niall Gordon had an effort from 12 yards which drew a fine save from Lee Mc Carron in the home net, on 17 min Cockhill’s Ryan Duffy’s header at the back post drew a good save from George Houghton in the Culdaff net, Cockhill’s Seamus Mc Laughlin put in a good cross but Mc Dermott’s shot flashed wide Cockhill took the lead on 41 min when a free into the box was misjudged and Connor Allen controlled and shot past Houghton Culdaff equalised on the stroke of half time when David O’Connor’s shot hit the crossbar Philip Mc Laughlin was on hand to slot the rebound past Mc Carron the second half produced few chances and Cockhill grabbed the winner on 84 min when a corner fell to Alan Fletcher and he shot past Houghton from close range
Clonmany Res. 2 2 Aileach Res
This match was switched to Lakeside where the home side squandered a two goal lead and had to settle for a share of the points. With a strong breeze in their favour Aileach opened brightly and Stephen O’ Donnell came close when his header went just wide. They took the lead after 14 minutes when O’Donnell pounced on a poor cleareance, advanced in on goal and scored past Mc Gilloway from inside the box. Clonmany’s best effort of the half fell to Marty Doherty but his free kick was off target. The home side almost doubled their advantage but after an exchange of passes between himself and Ruairi Bradley the wind took the ball away when O’Donnell got himself into a very promising position. However, O’Donnell had better luck after 58 minutes after he got on the end of a Bradley pull back to score at the near post and put his side two up. The visitors were out of luck shortly afterwards when Marty Doherty set up Jason Doherty (T) whose shot hit the bar before being cleared to safety by Mark Mc Laughlin. A double substitution by Clonmany when they introduced Dean Kelly and Dessie Doherty gave them fresh impetus allowing them to pull a goal back after 75 minutes. Brian Devlin won possession and laid off to Marty Doherty and his close control mazy run took him past several defenders before pulling the ball back to Jason Doherty to score from 12 yards. Clonmany continued to exert pressure but were leaving themselves exposed at the back allowing the home team to break. In one break Mc Grath ran clear but with Mc Gilloway advancing he shot wide. This was followed by Burke getting on the end of an O’Donnell pass and advancing in on goal. Despite the defensive efforts of Mc Gilloway and Martin Kelly he managed to get his shot away but was out of luck when it hit the base of a post. Clonmany kept pressing forward and Mc Geady make an excellent save from Dean Kelly. They eventually salvaged a point deep into injury time when Jason Doherty controlled a high delivery into the box and fired home for the equaliser.

Dunree Res 2-2 Cockhill Colts
After a fairly even opening Cockhill had the first chances when Garry Breslin shot over after 10 min then Breslin beat the offside trap only to be denied by Philip Doherty in the home net, then after 20 min Cockhill’s martin Mc Dermott shot wide after making a good chance for himself Dunree’s first opportunity came on the stroke of half time and they took the lead against the run of play when Joey Carlin headed home a free from the right Cockhill started strongly in the second half and Paddy Mc Laughlin and Breslin brought fine saves from keeper Doherty, Cockhill got their deserved equaliser on 55 min when Johnny Doherty crossed for Paddy Mc Laughlin to slot home at the back post, Dunree came close on 70 min when a good passing move fell to Paddy Mc Gilloway and he shot narrowly wide Cockhill took the lead on 75 min when Shaun Gillespie converted a penalty awarded for handball, Dunree then threw men forward and were rewarded on the stroke of full time when Johnny Lynch crossed and Paddy Toland shot low to the net from the edge of the area,
