Congratulations: It was a busy week for a number of members of CLG Bun Cranncha who, like Senior Footballer Ryan Bradley, represented their county. Well done to Manager Tom Clare and the following members of his Donegal Minor Hurling squad who competed in the Ulster League this weekend; Conor Grant (Captain), Stephen Nelson, Daniel Wilson, Donal Óg MacLochlainn, Jack O’Loughlin, Tom Clare, Daren Doherty Roe, Sam Doherty Roe and Paul Nelson.Buncrana gaa logo

Congratulations to Abaigh Stokes and Emer Clerkin who began their county careers on Saturday in Convoy against Derry in the first round of the Ulster League.

Well done to Darach O’Connor who played a huge part in Donegal Under 21s excellent victory over Tyrone in Omagh last week. They now progress to face Derry in the Ulster semi-final on Wednesday 3rd April.

Congratulations also to coach Gary Duffy and players Peter McLaughlin, Darrach O’Connor, Bruce Waldron and John Campbell who are all part of the Donegal Minor squad who played Fermanagh in Brewster Park in the first round of the Ulster Minor League last week.

Annual Dinner Dance: Just a few days remain until our annual celebration which will take place on Saturday 30th March in the Inishowen Gateway. All-Ireland winner Ryan Bradley will be in attendance, accompanied by Sam Maguire & the Liam McCarthy cups. It is sure to be a great night, which is open to all. Tickets priced at €25 are available from club members.

St. Patrick’s Day: A big thank you to all who helped in preparing the float for St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Thanks to A&N Fuels for the use of their lorry and to all who decorated and helped with the children, in particular the directors of operations Seamus and Pauline Grant. To Terry Tedstone, Sean Porter, Michael O’Toole, Denis Deery, and Peter Cloherty who made the “stick men” replicas of some members of the County Senior Team, including our own Ryan Bradley. Our float was awarded overall winner so congratulations to you all and thanks for all the hard work. The evening of culture was well attended and the club would like to thank Donna Elliott and Cathy Hegarty for bringing along their dancers, as well as the Inch and Cockhill Céile Dancers. Thanks also to Lauryn Mulholland for her excellent singing.

Senior and Reserve Football: After a solid pre-season and an unbeaten run in the Ulster Intermediate League, our Senior and Reserve sides will begin the 2013 Division 2 League at the Scarvey on Good Friday, when they will face 2011 County Senior Champions Glenswilly. A large crowd is expected at the Scarvey to witness a game which will be an excellent test for Buncrana, against a side that includes All-Stars Michael Murphy and Neil Gallagher.
