A huge crowd turned out in Dungloe today for a spectacular showing of local marching bands.

A total of 11 bands featuring 322 people paraded up the town’s Main Street for the first time ever.

Hundreds of visitors travelled from across the country and as far as Scotland especially for the occasion.

The bands battled it out for the big band competition but the real winner on the day was the town.

The breakdown of members included 29 flags, 12 leaders, 192 flutes, 30 triangles, etc, 48 side drums and 11 big drums.
