Inishowen Tourism’s innovative step, with support from Buncrana Town Council to engage a City of Culture Liaison Officer has paid dividends in securing no less than nine City of Culture events in Inishowen.inishowen/north donegal

Inishowen has continued to be the most integrated region outside Derry City and this success is testament to the working partnership established between Inishowen and key partners in Derry ~ Londonderry through having a dedicated resource working on the ground to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the City of Culture in 2013.

Jennifer O Donnell, City of Culture Liaison Officer Inishowen Tourism said this is an excellent opportunity for Inishowen and great to see all the hard work being done on the ground is really paying off.

“For nine Inishowen events to be included and recognised by City of Culture is testament to the calibre of cultural entertainment each of these events offers and it is a great opportunity for Inishowen to be involved in what promises to be an incredible year for tourism. Inishowen Tourism will continue to work closely with partners in Derry ~ Londonderry to gain further spin – offs for Inishowen from the one million expected visitors to the city’.

All festivals were selected by the City of Culture Team as they represent the rich heritage and culture that is synonymous with Inishowen and will contribute immensely to the overall City of Culture offering.

The nine City of Culture Events in Inishowen include:

Amazing Grace Festival – Buncrana 4th – 8th April

Clonmany Festival – Clonmany – 4th – 11th August

Beatlefest – Moville, Greencastle, Derry ~ Londonderry – 30th August – 1st September
