The fire was very close to this house near Meendernasloe

UPDATE: FIRE crews are still at the scene of a terrifying overnight fire near Crolly this morning – fearful the flames will rise again.

Earlier this morning, Donegal Daily brought you the breaking news of the gorse fire near homes in the area. You can read details here:

There are fears however that more gorse fires today will stretch crews once again.

At one stage last night the flames came within 20 yards of homes.

It brings to 40 the number of gorse fires in Donegal in recent days.
