FINN VALLEY’S SARAH SETS NEW IRISH JUNIOR RECORD

Sarah CollinsFINN VALLEY AC’s Sarah Collins returned an excellent early season 16.20.44 in the USA overnight for 5k which translates as a new Irish junior under 20 record.

And it’s also a Qualifying standard for the European junior champs in Rieti in July.

“This erases her own and Irish Best of 16.40 from Koblenz in 2012 and is a really encouraging start to the season,” said Valley’s Patsy McGonagle.

A scholarship student at Providence she had a most successful cross country season pre Christmas redshirted the college indoor season which is the collegiate term for skipped that aspect of the competition year!
