GAA: ST MARY’S CONVOY CLUB NEWS – GAELIC FOR MOTHERS AND OTHERS!

Gaelic for Mothers and Others takes place on Wed at 8.30pm new players always welcome.

Ladies Junior Game away to LGaels on Monday evening training will be on Thursday evening at 6.15 .

Training for Underage continues on Fri evening from 6-7 new Players welcome

U14 Girls Training Sat Morning at 10am. New players are welcome come along girls – it’s a great way to keep fit and meet new friends.

U 14 boys training at 6 on Monday new players always welcome .Game this Monday away to St Eunans throw in 6.30 Bus Times Convoy 5.30 and Drumkeen 5.40 .Please bring €2 for bus rem Mouth guard

Senior and Reserve Games

St Marys Convoy 2-11 Na Rossa 0-4

Na Rossa opened the scoring in the first half with a free from Oran Molloy .It was in to the 10th min when St Marys settled into the Game and a great score from Laurence Mc Mullanto put st Marys on the scoreboard The St Marys lads stepped it up a gear with 5 more unanswered points .

A great save by the Na Rossa Keeper to deny Peter Blake in the 20 min kept the Na Rossa men in the Game.St Marys backs worked hard and kept the Na Rossa men from Scoring and the sides went in at Half time wTih St Marys Leading 0-06 to 0-02

St Marys opened the scoring in the second half with a fine point from Emmet Patterson and Na Rosssa got one back from a well taken free 0-7 to 0-3

St Marys continued to put the pressure on and with David Shovlin ,Anthony Browne and Peter Bake all on the score sheet St Marys went ahead by 8 pts .Again St Marys Defence worked brilliantly and kept the Na Rosssa men out. Na Rossa pegged back another score from a free. To leave the Game 0-11 to 0-4

With 2 mins to go St Marys scored 2 fine goals from David Shovlin and Anthony Browne driving forward and sinking the Ball into the back of the net.

Reserves St Mary 2-16 Na Rossa 0-04

Reserves found it tough in the first half against a physically stronger Na Rossa side, for whom Patrick Caulfield was excellent. A well taken goal from Paul o Leary settled the nerves. in the second half St Marys dominated possession, Shane and Emmet kelly winning nearly everything.Driven on by Caolan Mc Ginley And Keelan Gillen, St Marys finished with a total of 2-16, the highlight a great goal by Seamie O Donnell. Scorers St Marys Sub Oliver Quinn slotted over three nippy points in another good victory. Scorers St Marys S O Donnell 1-0 O.Quinn 0-03 R Bonner 0-01 K Gillen,D.Gibson,G.Sweeney 0-01

Minors

The Minors lost at home to Termon on Friday Night on a 2-5 to 1-13 score line .They trailed at half time 1-1 to 0-6 both scores came from J.Blake in the 1st Half .Termon scored a goal early I the 2nd half and added a few points however St Marys came back into the game in the final Quarter to make for an exciting finish
