Jason everest bidDONEGAL businessman Jason Black sets out this week on his toughest challenge yet – a climb up Mount Everest.

The Letterkenny man told Donegal Daily he’s hoping to make a bit of history in the next few days.

“I’m hoping to make history in being the first Donegal person to summit Mt Everest and just the 15th irish man via the north ridge – and the 38th irish person in total summited Everest north & south routes combined,” said Jason.

“I leave on Wednesday and begin the solo ascent to the top of the world on Friday.

“I aim to be successful and I’m hoping the mountain gods are good to me.”

Jason spent yesterday climbing the much gentler slopes of Mount Errigal with his son and some friends.

“It’s going to be a whole lot different in Tibet,” he laughed.
