The following statement was released this evening by Former EU Commissioner & Finance Minister Ray Mac Sharry on the Death of Bernard Mc Glinchey.

“It is with great sadness that I have learned of the death of my great friend and colleague Bernard. For more than 50 years he has always been a tower of strength in Donegal Politics and Business.

“His record as a member of the Oireachtas, The Council of Europe and Donegal County Council speaks for itself. The fruits of Bernard’s life long contribution to public life on local, national and international level have been and will continue to be enjoyed by many generations.

“He will be greatly missed by all, none more so than his family and his dear partner Kathleen. May Bernard Rest in Peace.” – Ray MacSharry
